Two operas of Michaela Eremiášová and Jairo Duarte-Lopez, CAR CRASH OPERA and BODAS DE SANGRE received the Boston Metro Opera awards. BODAS DE SANGRE will be fully-staged as part of Boston Metro Opera’s regular season.

Michaela Eremiášová and Jairo Duarte-López were commissioned by the Kurt‐Weill music festival, in collaboration with the Eastman School of Music and Georg Eastman House, to write music scores for several short silent films from the 1920s and 1930s by renown European film makers Lotte Reiniger, Walter Ruttman, and László Moholy‐Nagy. These scores were premiered live by Eastman alumni in Berlin, at the Kurt‐Weill festival in January 2011. More info. here
